BIOGRAPHY

Linda P. Campbell is an editorial writer and op-ed columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. She has 27 years of experience in journalism, including almost five years as National Legal Affairs Correspondent for the Chicago Tribune, based in Washington, D.C. As a commentary writer, she focuses mainly on legal issues, education, family policy and immigration.

She has won awards for editorial writing and columns from the Houston Press Club, Texas APME, SPJ Fort Worth Chapter and Association for Women Journalists. She also has won the Star-Telegram's annual Amons Awards for editorial writing and commentary. And she has completed fellowships through the University of Maryland on childen and family policy; national security/civil liberties; criminal justice; and immigration.

She has a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she edited The Shorthorn, the student newspaper; and a Master of Studies in Law from Yale University through its Fellowship for Journalists program. She also did a year of graduate work in journalism at City University in London on a Rotary Foundation Fellowship.

She teachers media law at Texas Christian University and is a board member of the SPJ Fort Worth Chapter.
