Ms. Becca Rothschild

BIOGRAPHY

Becca Rothschild is associate editor of the Detroit Free Press editorial pages, editing most of the daily editorials, coordinating daily editorial and oped offerings and pulling together the Sunday "On Point" section. Rothschild also contributes several editorials a week, on subjects including civil liberties, national and international politics, a woman's right to choose and health issues, domestically and around the globe.

Rothschild came to the Free Press in July 1998 from the Times-Picayune in New Orleans, where she managed two suburban bureaus from 1994-98. Prior to that she worked at the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff as education reporter, news editor and city editor.

A native of the Chicago suburbs, she has a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor's degree from Smith College.

Elected to the board of the National Conference of Editorial Writers in September 2004, Rothschild loves to come to work every day in a job she fondly calls the greatest graduate school in the world.
