"It's elegant, useful and fun."
"...an excellent book. The articles make the reader think, even if he doesn't agree with everything in them -- which is, after all, the mark of a good editorial."
That's what readers are saying about Beyond Argument.

Christmas Carol
Last week we discussed Santa Claus and Virginia and how the most memorable editorial ever written argues for the existence of Santa.
Well that triggered my imagination. Could I argue against the existence of Santa Claus? How would I do it?
The result is my first podcast. And you can hear me sing (I hope) if you click here:

And here are my lyrics:
Imagine there's no Santa.
No big jolly fat guy.
No elves working for him.
A Christmas without lies.
Imagine all the children
Happy with old toys.
Imagine there's no Elmo.
It isn't hard to do.
Nothing to kill or die for
And no PlayStation Two.
Or three or Nintendo Wii
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace.
You may say that I'm a Grinch
But I'm not the only one.
Simplify your holiday,
play the old-fashioned way.
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no credit card debt
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or plunder
We're living within our means.
Simple gifts from the heart
This could be a start
You may say that I'm a Grinch
But I'm not the only one.
Simplify your holiday,
play the old-fashioned way.
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
